1147.5 MW SUGEN Mega Power Project

 Location

SUGEN, just off NH-48, is about 26 km from the city of Surat, Gujarat. Tapi, a major perennial river of South Gujarat, passes nearby of the plant.

Technology

Combined Cycle Power Plant; Natural Gas Fired; Single Shaft Configuration; Siemens F-class (4000F) Gas Turbines coupled with Siemens Steam Turbine and Doosan HRSG.

Fuel Supply

Connected to Natural Gas trunk pipeline of GSPL with access to all major sources of NG and RLNG.

Power Off-take

  • 400 KV Double Circuit Line to PGCIL's Pirana Substation in Ahmedabad, through Torrent Power Grid Limited, a Joint venture with PGCIL.
  • 3 x 220 KV dedicated transmission lines to cater to power requirements of Surat distribution area.
  • 220 KV line to Kim substation of GETCO. Major part of power produced is supplied under long term PPA to Ahmedabad and Surat Discoms of TPL; spare capacity is sold as Merchant power based on demand.

    Registered under CDM with UNFCCC. “2012 Sword of Honor” by British Safety Council, certified with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 50001:2018, ISO 27001:2013, ISO-55001:2014 and 5S certification by Union of Japanese Scientist and Engineers (JUSE).
