Business Areas
GENERATION
Torrent Power has thermal power generation capacity of 3454 MW with a unique mix of coal and gas based power plants that use the latest power generation technologies to ensure high thermal efficiency. It also operates in the renewable energy segment with 1236 MW capacity taking the aggregate installed generation capacity to 4328 MW.
TRANSMISSION
Torrent Power has set up 249 km and 105 km 400kV double circuit transmission lines for evacuating power generated at SUGEN and DGEN plant to various off-take centres. It also has 129 km 3 x 220 KV dedicated transmission lines from SUGEN to Surat distribution area and 220 KV line from SUGEN to GETCO. The Company also operates 220/132 kV transmission system in Ahmedabad distribution area.
DISTRIBUTION
With a vast experience in distribution, Torrent Power is one of the most efficient utility companies in the country. It distributes power as licensee in the cities of Ahmedabad, Surat, Gandhinagar, Dahej SEZ , Dholera SIR (Gujarat) and Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and as franchisee in Bhiwandi, Shil, Mumbra and Kalwa (Maharashtra) and Agra (Uttar Pradesh). Torrent Power was the first company in India to be awarded Distribution Franchisee and its Bhiwandi franchisee model is a role model for distribution reforms in the country.
