SUGEN 1147.5 MW CCPP, being set up at an investment of Rs. 3096 crores, is for meeting the power deficit in the western region in general and for meeting the power requirement of its Ahmedabad ( including Gandhinagar) and Surat distribution areas (which are part of the western regional grid and the Gujarat state grid)

The project is scheduled to be commissioned in the financial year 2009-2010 |

The project is strategically located. It is close to River Tapi, National Highway No.8, gas supply infrastructure comprising LNG terminals and main gas trunk lines

Environmental and social impact of this project is minimal due to (a) use of eco-friendly Natural Gas, (b) use of uncultivated and barren land and (c) no loss of livelihood.

|
The plant would comprise of three power blocks comprising advanced class gas turbines, steam turbine, HRSG and a common generator in a single shaft configuration with a high operating efficiency.
|
|
Security of fuel supply will ensure reliability of power and nearness to point of gas terminals will not only reduce other risks but also be of economic advantage.
