Environmental Management Unit (EMU) created within TPL and the Executive Director (ED) is in charge of all environment-health-and-safety-related issues during the construction phase.

Environmental and Safety related clauses including stringent norms in plant design for meeting relevant national and international standards have been incorporated in the Project Contracts. This along with supervision at site shall ensure compliance of Environment, Health and Safety standards.

SUGEN 1147.5 MW CCPP has been approved as being eligible for Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) benefits.
