Energy Audit is a first step towards Energy Conservation.
Energy audit establishes both where and how energy is being
used, and the potential for energy saving. This is an exercise,
jointly conducted by your plant personnel and external authorised consultants,
to identify energy saving opportunities.
The efficiencies of important energy consuming equipment
are estimated and energy losses are clearly identified and
quantified. Energy Audit identifies where the potential
for improvement lies for energy saving. It also indicates
the ways in which different forms of energy are being used
and quantifies the energy usage according to discrete functions.
At last, energy auditor suggests specific measures to improve
the efficiency alongwith cost benefit analysis and payback
period for the investment.
