The demand
for energy is continuously increasing due to rapid industrialisation
and growth of the society. Due to limited natural resources
and increasing cost of raw material, the cost of energy is continuously
increasing. Competition in the market is also increasing day
by day, only those who are effective and efficient can survive
in the market. Thus liberalization of the economy and rising
energy costs are now forcing industries and service organizations
to cut down their operating costs and other overheads to gain
competitive edge in the market
To reduce the
operating cost, one has to reduce the energy charges and this
can be done by reducing the wastage of energy i.e. by energy
conservation.
Energy conservation does not simply cuts down the energy consumption
but implies the efficient and optimum utilisation of the available
energy. Due to this, gap between the supply and the demand will
be reduced and sizeable amount of energy can be made available
to meet the growing demand. |
