1. TARIFF ORDER
2. CONTRACT DEMAND
· Contract Demand means the maximum kW for the supply of which TPL has
provided facility to the consumer
· Maximum Demand in a month means the highest value of average kW used/consumed by the consumer during any time block of 30 minutes
· Conversion of rating of electrical appliances from kW to BHP or vice-versa can be arrived at by rate of 1 BHP = 0.746 kW
· For customers of category LTMD-1 and LTMD-2, Contract Demand can be kept at
o Minimum - 6 kW
o Maximum = Total sanctioned load (Sum of sanctioned lighting load in kW and sanctioned motive power load converted to kW from BHP)
o Permissible Maximum Contract Demand - 100 kW
· If the Recorded Demand exceeds the Contract Demand, the customer has to pay higher Fixed Charge per kW for the Excess Demand
3. POWER FACTOR
· The electrical appliances and equipment like tube light, fan, motors use/draw power at low power factor which results into higher losses and heating.
· The customer is required to maintain their average Power Factor during the Billing Period 90% or above.
· To improve the Power Factor it is necessary to install capacitors of appropriate rating.
· Power Factor Adjustment Charges:
