During the heavy floods in Surat in August-2006 which threw the city’s life totally out of gear, Torrent Power
swung into action through a power restoration task force from Ahmedabad. Torrent Power personnel braved the floods and a disease-prone environment to provide quick relief to Surat citizens from the power woes.

On 13th July,
2000 when Ahmedabad city received 23 inches rainfall in four
hours, 98% of consumers were affected. The power supply was
restored in 96 hrs |

On 26th January,
2001 when
devastating
earth quake hit the state of Gujarat, Ahmedabad
city was among the worst affected. Torrent rose to the occasion

August,2004 - Floods
On 2nd and 3rd August 2004, Surat received almost
12 inches of rainfall within 4 Hrs and another 11 inches in
3 Hrs on the subsequent day. The entire southern area and parts
of nothern area were submerged under 12ft of water bringing
the city to a standstill. Torrent Power rose to the situation
and quickly mobilised its team to restore the power supply in
the affected areas within 72 Hrs |

Sept,2002 - Floods
On September 5th 2002, Surat was badly affected by floods owing
to large amount of water being released from the Ukai dam. This
resulted in almost 4-8 ft. of water logging in nothern parts
of the city. Torrent Power was quick to respond to the situation
and successfully restored power supply within 72 Hrs. In addition
to this it also helped in the relief process by distributing
food packets and medicines to the affected people |

January,2001 - Earthquake
As a result, Hare Krishna Complex at Bhatar Road was
fully devastated. Company played an active role in this disaster
which included immediate isolation and timely restoration of
power supply. Torrent Power also effectively liasoned with the
local authorities and provided full fledged support in all respect

Sept,1998 - Floods
On 17th Sept, 1998, almost 7 lacs cusecs of water was discharged
into Tapi river from the Ukai dam. This increased the level
of water in the river to a record 102 ft. submering 15 Sq. Kms
in the northern stretch of the city. Torrent Power not only
played a pivotal role in restoring the supply within 96 hrs,
but also replaced energy meters installed at the consumers'
premises free of cost in the affected areas |
