The SUGEN 1147.5 MW CCPP is a backward integration initiative by the
Torrent Group and would primarily replace the power currently
procured by Torrent Power from the State Electricity Board.

The project is scheduled to be commissioned in the financial year 2008-2009 |

The project is strategically
located. It is close to River Tapi, National Highway No.8,
gas supply infrastructure comprising LNG terminals and
main gas trunk lines.

The Torrent Group, promoters of the project, have over the years developed an in-house project team having an excellent domain expertise and a proven track record of timely execution and efficient management of power generation plants.

The project
has strong off takers with sound credit worthiness. |

Environmental and
social impact of this project is minimal due to use of
eco-friendly Natural Gas and prevalence of very low habitation
at site and its surroundings.

The generation plant
would comprise of 3 advanced class gas turbines with a
high operating efficiency.

|
Security of fuel supply
will ensure reliability of power and nearness to point of gas
terminals will not only reduce other risks but also be of economic
advantage.
