| The 400 MW Sabarmati Thermal Power Station (STPS) is one of the oldest operating power stations in the country. The first Power Plant at STPS became operational in 1934 with 37.5 MW capacity having configuration of 2x 3.75 MW and 4x7.5 MW.
Since then the Station has passed through several phases of capacity addition, upgradation and modernization to cater to the growing power requirements of the twin cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. All necessary supporting systems and facilities in the Station have also been upgraded and strengthened from time to time to comply with statutory requirements and also to meet the growing requirements of the plant.
STPS is one of the best power plants among its age group, fleet and technology. Despite its age, the Station has been running consistently at a PLF and PAF of around 94% for past several years.
