Torrent Power, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Torrent Energy Ltd., is in the process of expanding its generation capacity substantially by setting up a 1200 MW gas based power project at Dahej near Bharuch in South Gujarat. The project, named DGEN Mega Power Project, is in close proximity to the industrial towns of Bharuch and Ankleshwar. The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) and notified Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Region (PCPIR) are also in close proximity to the site. The EPC contract for setting up DGEN Project has been awarded to Siemens. The Project has received the Environmental Clearance from the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India.
